In Loving Memory of Nondumiso Imminent Mabuza

We are devastated by the loss of our beloved comrade, Nondumiso Imminent Mabuza, a fearless activist and comrade, a protector of her community, and a caring and compassionate person.

As co-founder of Carolina Eco Green Economy, Nondumiso was a tireless advocate for access to clean water, dedicating her life to fighting water contamination and advocating for safe and clean water in her community and beyond. Her unwavering commitment to justice and her deep love for her people have left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

As a member of the Climate Justice Coalition, she regularly joined working group meetings, contributing her time and energy to further our collective aim of pursuing a transformative climate justice agenda—one that advances social, economic, and environmental justice for all, especially communities living at the intersections of multiple oppressions and injustices. A formidable activist in Mpumalanga, and a key partner in all our actions there over the past few years, we will remember Nondumiso’s no-frills attitude and unwavering commitment to getting the work done and holding the Department of Mineral Resources to account.

A fixture in the ILRIC calendar for 2025, her impact will be felt far beyond her time with us. Though she is no longer here, her work will continue to inspire generations to come.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Mabuza family, her friends, comrades, and the entire community of Carolina. May you find comfort in the legacy of courage and care that Nondumiso leaves behind.

Fly high with the angels, Nondumiso. 🕊️ Your spirit will forever guide us.
